Marissa Lemmon visited The Ark as she was ready to adopt and wanted it to be a rescued dog. She spent time with Junior, a 1-year old Chiweenie. They played both outside and in a bonding room, as Junior has plenty of energy. She slept on the lifelong decision to make him a part of the family. Returning next day, she made the adoption official. After reviewing Junior's Vetting records (all pets are vetted before adoption) she completed the adoption contract.
Lauren England and daughter Brayla spent several weeks volunteering at The Ark this spring. Not only did they care for the pets, they also pitched in with cleaning tasks. The duo came in last week to visit Junior, who had just been adopted. While onsite, they decided to visit the dogs they knew and the new ones as well. When they met Itsy, an 8-year-old petite Chihuahua, it was love at first sight. They went home and got their 8-year-old Chihuahua named Roxie and brought her in for a meet and greet. Itsy doesn't ever meet a stranger so Roxie, left, was destined to take Itsy, right, home. The two spent time on a long walk and then in a bonding room. The two quickly adopted each other as sisters.
