‘Build a Better World’ with summer reading program

Today, the Sweet Sounds Jazz Combo will perform at 5 p.m., on the Jarnigan House front porch. Bring your lawn chairs to enjoy a great time.

Also at 1:30 p.m., the Tween Movie Matinee is showing the film, “Secret Life of Pets.” All ages are welcome to view this showing at 1:30 p.m., about these lovable animals.

Registration for the Summer Reading Program has begun. All sign-ups are online. The theme this year, “Build A Better World.”

Monday at 4:30 p.m., the teens gather for gaming in the Teen Zone. They have board and card games as well as Wii and Xbox gaming. Feel free to bring a multi-player E-Rated game to share. For more information, email teenzone@clevelandlibrary.org.

Join the Cleveland Couponing Club every Monday at 6:30 p.m., in the Carmichael Room. This group is dedicated to helping you save money through couponing.

Indulge your creative side in Origami Adventures Monday at 4 p.m., and Coloring Corner Wednesday at noon. All skill levels are welcome but participants must be able to complete the projects on their own. These programs are held in the Serving Grace Cafe and supplies are provided for you by the cafe and library. They will happen every week this month.

Movie nights for adults 18 years and up is back this week. Join in every month to watch a film related to STEM. Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m., “Limitless” rated PG-13 will be showing. Free popcorn.

Thursday at 4:30 p.m., the tween and teen writing clubs will meet to write their own works of art. Scribblers for tweens meets in the Children’s Room and is for ages 9-12 and the teen Scribblers meets in the Teen Zone. Both of these groups work through creative writing prompts and participants are encouraged to share their writing projects.

The Crossover Book Club is meeting Friday at 7 p.m., to discuss the Young Adult hit “Firstlife” by Gena Showalter. Join them for heavy hors d’oeuvres and book games for a night of hands-on learning fun.

Story times are happening all the time at the library. Little ones, 0 through 3, have Wiggle Worms on Mondays at 3 p.m. and Baby Bookworms on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and at 1 p.m.

Bring your younguns to enjoy the music and interactive play offered by these events. Pre-school aged children can attend on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Families of all ages can enjoy stories on Saturdays at 2 p.m. at Family Story Time. All of these groups will have stories read to them and partake in an activity or craft.

Don’t forget that the library offers free Zumba classes every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning at 8 a.m.

The library will be closed on May 29 for Memorial Day.
